KVK is an institution working at grass-root level with welfare of farmers, farm women, school dropouts at village and block level in district. KVK is also organising and conducting trainings to upgrade the skill of extension workers of Agri and Allied Department of State Government. KVK plays a vital role in agribusiness management, by organising and conducting its mandated activities and other extension activities. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) sanctioned the establishment of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Shikohpur Gurgaon in the year 1984 under the administrative control of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa New Delhi. Shikohpur is about 50 Km. from IARI New Delhi and 15 Km. from district headquarters Gurgaon. It is connected to NH-48 (Delhi-Jaipur) through a 2.5 Km. long metallic link road.
1. Testing and refinement of suitable technologies in micro-climatic area for better technological options for farmers of the district.
2. Creating awareness about Entrepreneurships development programmes in Agriculture sector by conducting hands on trainings.
3. Creating awareness through media for eg. articles in Newspaper, radio talks.
4. Developing skills of Farmers in Agri and allied sectors.
5. Formation of farmer’s interest groups, self-help groups (SHGs) and farmers club in the district.
6. Bringing stake holders i.e. Research Organizations, Farmers, Bankers, NABARD, Line Departments and private partners at one platform for better convergence and support to farmers, so that the farmers can produce the quality raw materials for Agro-based industry.
7. Technology supported interventions by field level institutions across country are very effective in mitigating stresses at ground level as demonstrated by KVKs in mitigating challenge of drought and harnessing benefits through various activities including technological backstopping, support of technological inputs, creating mass awareness, print and electronic media campaign, organization of technology weeks, demonstrations etc.

9. Technology showcasing in larger area for better technical options and better quality of raw materials.
10. KVK offers opportunities for farmers to become self reliant as well as to supply the raw materials to Agro-based Industry.
Location
The KVK is located at Gurugram District of Haryana at National Highway (NH-48) about 2.5 Kilometers from Shikohpur Mode and 48 Kilometers from Indian Agriculture Research Institute of New Delhi, in the state capital. The elevation of Shikohpur is 254.6 meters above mean sea level. The KVK is located at 28.38’N latitude and 76.98’ E longitude.
